I have no gift to bring that’s fit for a king. The meaning - TopicsExpress

I have no gift to bring that’s fit for a king. The meaning behind the song is actually quite touching. The little drummer boy is so moved by the birth of Christ that he wants to offer a gift, but has nothing to give but his drum, so he plays his drum to honour the birth. As we recover today from the over indulgence and maybe have yet another big meal, let’s think of the message behind this catchy song. What would we offer the king? I certainly don’t have any gold or frankincense lying around and my myrrh supplies are running pretty low. But as followers of Christ, no matter what stage of our faith, we have much to offer. No material goods, no pretty wrapped parcels, but the constant beat of our drum. Our daily drum beat, rhythm of life, dedicated to him. We have nothing to give Christ in comparison to the gift he was to us, but that’s the point. Our daily drum beat needs to be one of love, prayer, listening, trust, action, faith, service and celebration. Just because the 25th December has passed, celebrate him more than ever. https://youtube/watch?v=qJ_MGWio-vc
