I have no idea how to talk about the series finale of How I Met Your Mother without spoiling it. Im drawing a complete blank other than to say that I am just really disappointed. Disappointed in how events unfolded, how events were presented, the abruptness of some things. The least exciting thing to me was Ted himself, which was, to me, kind of the point of the show. Yes its about friends, growing up, finding yourself, loving yourself, and life, but its about Ted meeting the love of his life, and the road that led him to her. For the show to end the way it did (though I give the writers EXTREME props for actually having the ending set from the very beginning), Im honestly left feeling empty and a little lost. Yes, Im angry, yes Im sad, yes Im happy for various characters, but fantasy, or real life, this does NOT leave me hopeful for a brighter tomorrow. It reminds me what Ive learned already, for every up, theres a down, and I wanted to see things end differently because I want that happy ending, and I want that happy ending for me to someday last forever. I dont want reality when I dream, I want the dream to be real.
