I have no idea what the good folks at Amazon are doing with prices, those decisions are far above my pay grade. However, a couple of weeks back they were offering Night Broken for just under $4. Now its listed at $2.27. These prices have GOT to be less than what theyre paying Penguin. I have no idea why they would offer it as a loss leader now (and I can completely understand it irritating those that payed full price a few months ago). I think the business plan is: 1) Sell book at full price at release. 2) When demand drops, suddenly offer the book for less than wholesale, ticking off the thousands of customers who bought it during step 1. 3) ??? 4) Profit!
