I have no skin in the game. . Well that is untrue, I am Black, an American of color who has tired of wondering just how many Americans judge me and my kind by the color of our skins. I wonder how can a single juror see a reason behind the murder of a teenager who made the mistake of playing his music to loud. I wonder how prevalent it is among Americans to believe it their right to act anytime a person of color does something that irritates or offends their comfort zone and I wonder how many centuries will racism prevail in the minds of our lawmakers, teachers, employers, police, work mates and neighbors. I dont wonder if my thoughts are outlandish because history continues to verify the accuracy .I dont wonder if a few will simply discredit the thoughts shared. Its not a comfortable feeling having to wonder if you are being paid or treated less, judged differently or called one of those buzz word: arrogant, cocky, not a team player. Its trueñ the only thing that have changed are the words used but the intent is still there. So I wonder will my grand childrens child have to endure the pain and insecurity of always having to wonder, to wait to see of that person will judge them by their character, by their actions and not by the color of their skin. It wont happen for my kids or their children. But one decade or century maybe there will be enough good to snuff out the underlying hidden hate and ignorance. Maybe.
