I have not been on Facebook for a few days, and I missed my Day 3 Grateful challenge! I was nominated by my big sister, Annie to share 3 things each day for 7 days that I am grateful for. Today, I nominate my old friend, Vallery Carter-Fields and another old friend, Gerline Horton. 1. I am grateful for true friendships....friends who are always there to encourage and lift you up....friends who know God. 2. I am grateful for my three granddaughters. I am proud to be called, Grandma whether it is considered old fashioned or not. They are beautiful gifts from God, and I thank God for having them in my life to mentor and to love on. Love you Joslynn, Jasani and Jinece! 3. I am grateful for women of God who have encouraged me over the years, but who have passed on: Mulla, Mibud, Mama Dempsey, Mama Kate, Aunt Susie (twice), Aunt Mary, Aunt Era, Mother Idell Hall, Mother Wilma Mathenia, Mother Willie B. Autry, Big Mama, Mother Corinne Martin, Mother Roxie Daniels, Mother Warren, Mother Mitchell, Mother Dailey....and the list goes on. Their godly wisdom, kindness and generosity, love, strength, tender listening skills....got me through many youthful struggles! I thank God for placing them in my life!
