I have noticed a recent amount of post regarding their dogs getting hit by a car and whoever hit the dog needs to pay for the vet bill, It is the dog owners responsibility to keep the dog out of the street and away from traffic. Cars belong on the road, not dogs. The dogs owner is responsible for any damage done to the car from his dog running in the street. Of course it is a terrible situation the dog was hurt, but its in no way the drivers fault. Its not their dog and not their job to keep it out of the street. They are driving where they were supposed to be, the dog was not. There is absolutely no legal action the dog owner can take against the driver, its actually the other way around, the driver can sue you for any damage done to their car. Before posting about not having the money to pay the vet bill also think about if you are posting this on a open social media page you are also setting your self up to possibly paying for car damage on top of a vet bill.
