I have noticed some saying they could never afford a decent gaming - TopicsExpress

I have noticed some saying they could never afford a decent gaming PC so I have written my own small buyers guide to get a mid range system, at a budget price. I often spec PCs for fun and I thought today I would share the results of my fun with some detail, links and priced up for your convenience. This system is specced with overclocking in mind, and will easily push performance to that of cpus that cost double the price and up. The system will out perform the current gen systems in any multiplats at the same settings (barring bad porting of course... >.>) and will often allow you to push them a little or a lot higher. Of course there are a couple of caveats, one: some of these parts are second hand but you will be buying from CEX and they provide a year warranty so its fairly low risk (bar the GPU but thats eBay and you have buyer protection there too.) Two: you will have to obtain your operating system on top, however with steamos not far off and people with eyepatches (think arrrr) to obtain software this can be done for free. And you will need a 8 gb USB flash drive to install as well, but if you dont have one GET OFFA MY INTERNET or you know, Amazon. This set up is also designed with MASSIVE upgrading potential, you can jump to a full fledged i7 3770k when it becomes cheaper, keep chucking in more ram for till you max out at 32GB, hard drive space is basically limitless, and upgrading your Graphics card is always a big hitter. Last but not least this is all UK based so our foreign chums will have to look elsewhere for accurate pricing, but this should give you someideas on obtaining cheaper parts. £29.99 Mid Tower case, clean design and roomy for an fairly painless install amazon.co.uk/Cooler-Master-K-Series-K280-Case/dp/B009AJ8FTA/ref=sr_1_31?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1417554203&sr=1-31&keywords=mid+tower+case £59.60 Enthusiast Motherboard, overclockable as hell. amazon.co.uk/P8Z77-V-Motherboard-CrossFireX-Intelligent-Processors/dp/B007KZQE7Q/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1417554348&sr=8-1&keywords=z77+motherboard £24.97 Powerful CPU cooler, will keep temperature low even with a reasonable overclock amazon.co.uk/Cooler-Master-Hyper-212-120mm/dp/B0068OI7T8/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1417553943&sr=8-1&keywords=coolermaster+hyper+212+evo £95.00 Quad core 5, k series, designed to be overclocked https://uk.webuy/product.php?sku=SCPUINTI52500KA#.VH4nEukqU6Y £18.00 (X2=36.00) 8GB 1600 speed ram, good speed https://uk.webuy/product.php?sku=SMEM9QAI#.VH4nzekqU6Y £15.00 500gb sata Harddrive nuff said https://uk.webuy/product.php?sku=SHDDS10A0AA#.VH4oV-kqU6Z £34.99 High quality powersupply, more than powerful enough for single GPU system amazon.co.uk/Corsair-Builder-Series-Bronze-Supply/dp/B009RMP14M/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1417554291&sr=8-1&keywords=corsair+cx430 £85.00 Gtx 660 2GB Nvenc intergrated video renderer, allows capture without performance loss. £5.70 postage £386.70 So while the price is a little higher you are getting a very capable system, with the massive boone of steam and their lovely sale/third party distributors (I got lords of the fallen for £13.50 cannot be beat :D ) in fact there are more ways to get cheap PC games than I can be bothered to list here, just know once you have the games on PC, they come with pretty much forever :)
