I have now been without my cell phone for several days. In my mind, three days would have been torture, three days without an alarm, without a camera to document my every project or food masterpiece, without the Did you know app so I can use the bathroom, and GASP! without Facebook and Instagram. I have learned a few things: 1. I gossip a lot via text. Man do I love me some drama. I dont watch reality TV or go out so I have to read Facebook and offer my opinion on stuff people post. 2. Speaking of...Facebook is an endless pit of despair! People! Why do you post your drama for everyone to see?! Do I want to know your bf/gf cheated, or your baby momma/daddy is a whore? Honestly? Yes I do want to know, but do I NEED to know? No. Man, its been nice to have to actually log on to get on Facebook. Limiting my time has been good, I think. 3. Every one of my friends has THE CUTEST KID, ever. No, for reals, I just love looking at kid pics, especially babies, I cant get enough. Keep posting!! 4. Man I make a lot of shit. Atikluks, clothing, purses, jewelry, baked goods, dinner, shoot even breakfast is a work of art sometimes. I dont even know if people actually like that stuff, but peer pressure keeps me from just sharing yesterdays cinnamon rolls with my family. Everyone must see! 5. I actually miss talking on the phone. Granted most of my dialogue happens through texts, talking is a lost art form, like letter writing... 6. I was sort of lost without it. My husband didnt text me goodnight (while at work), my kids had to actually find me to tell me where they were, my friends had to stop by the house to invite me out berry picking, and my boss didnt know I was going to be late because I didnt know her number! 7. I lived. Tomorrow afternoon, I should be able to get my phone back. I dont know how I feel about that.
