I have only recently joined this group, so can you guys please clear two things up for me? I had always understood that there were two main (insurmountable) stumbling blocks to the bridge ........ (a) That they had already done soil tests and found that the ground in the bay was unsuitable for the bridge footings. They had gone down however far, and found that it just was not possible. and (b) That in order to allow the boats/barges etc to pass underneath, the gradient of the bridge would have to be too steep to make it workable. Are those issues no longer valid???
