I have put my butt on sleeper-sofas from half a dozen furniture stores, for CouchQuest 2015. Ive been to Pottery Barn, which is not a barn and does not sell pottery, but they do have $4,000 leather sofas, and I tried those. EQ3 had the famous Eames chair, but no sleepers for people over 6 tall. I also explored CB2, Crate & Barrel, Urban Outfitters, West Elm, Teak Me Home, Studio Home, and a couple other places whose names Ive now forgotten. Conversation from one of those other places: Me: So, this is basically a Mad Scientists Orgy Couch, from the 1960s. Attendant: Um, yes... And at the end of it all, I gave IKEA one more chance. And after all that, IKEA wins again. Why? Because they have a model thats completely serviceable. Fabric wears out? Swap it. Foam wears out? Undo two zippers, pull it out, put new foam in. If anyone knows a reason why this man and this guest bed should not be united in holy loftimony, speak now or forever hold your peace.
