I have reached the end of your rope! This country’s racist - TopicsExpress

I have reached the end of your rope! This country’s racist bullshit has been strangling me my whole life. I have watched the justification of the murder of young black men and women for way too long. Trayvon Martin, Oscar Grant, Latasha Harlins, Amadou Diallo, and Kenneth Chamberlain are just a tiny fraction of the unarmed African-Americans who have been shot and killed who did not receive justice at the hands of a racist criminal justice system. Please don’t give me that crap about how our system is imperfect but we must accept the verdict of the jury. Is that they way this country felt when the OJ verdict was read. No, that was considered a travesty of justice and OJ was hounded from that moment on. I don’t want to intellectualize this, I don’t want Zimmerman to come to harm, I want this to stop. Enough is an enough. We have withstood slavery, every bit of violence, poverty, injustice, and every racist foot on our neck for too long. This has to end, no more sell out bougie black and brown folk only concerned about their own careers, no more vita activist, no more well meaning patronizing white liberals, just those who are truly down, regardless of your race! I have no more patience for this. I have been walking the walk in my community and I want to thank my fellow travelers, but the rest of you need to get off your ass and work. Work for a just world, stop talking and do something, anything. I don’t want to hear any smug remarks, jokes or anyone “liking” this so that you feel I am not talking to you, because I am talking to you. We fear for our children from the Police and the Zimmermans of the world. We resent that you turn our children into thugs who deserve a modern day lynching. We are not your “Ni**ers” nor your “illegals.” We are human beings deserving of dignity. As Obama stated, “if I had a son, he’d look like Trayvon.” Well I have a son that looks like Trayvon. I also have sons that look like Manual Diaz the unarmed Latino brother shot in Anaheim. I do not want to have my children grow up like this. To paraphrase Fannie Lou Hammer “I am still sick and tired of being sick and tired.” I have reached the end of your rope and I am cutting it away from my neck.
