I have read the comments made by people about Smriti Irani and her ascent to the position of HRD Minister in the present Govt. in various forums. They start with her educational qualification, then refer to her relationship with Modi as being the reason why she got so far. The same set of people wanted Gul Panag to change her Twitter DP and wanted her to wear traditional clothes in it as she was running for MP of Chandigarh. Seeing this discourse, I have now understood why people voted for Sonia in 2004 and 2009. We care less about issues and more about appearances. We Indians are born ch****yas, or at least our education system makes us one.
