I have said since this grouo of Argyle seniors were 6th graders. This may be the most talented team Argyle has ever had. If talent was all that mattered you could all go fitted for rings. The only hole I see in 2013 team is I dont know if we are tough enough to do what it takes to be a state champion. I hope we are practicing,conditioning,studying,doing whatever it takes to win it. If I think about it very much it almost makes me ill. Every team in the state talks about winning a state championship. The reality of it is only about 6 or 7 teams in each classification have a chance. Argyle may be the most talented team in Texas 3A football,but if we dont do everything,everyday,all the time to help you win games you may come up short. I know in 2011 Argyle was better than Wimberly. Argyle had to play some back up kids that couldnt get it done and lost. Here is the recipe for success. Block everyone to the end of the play. Finish every play. Run every route perfect,catch every ball. Throw every pass perfect and on time, Defense to not get blocked,do not get held,do not let them catch a single ball.Special teams guys make every snap perfect,make every fg/extra point. Every punt needs to be great. I know its unreasonable to do all of this,but the teams that will win the state championship will get a bunch of this done. I do not want to be sitting here in December talking about what if. Only I dont get a say in whether we take plays off at practice,cutting reps in the weight room. I seem to be struggling to get some of yall to understand its the little things that add up to the big things that adds up to the giant things that adds up to to the earth shattering things that will ultimately determine who wins the state championship. Lets all start tomorrow,make it happen.Be great.
