I have seen a lot of statuses lately about public schools. A lot of them come from people that are my friends and that I love and respect. However, I just want to say that even though I can only speak for the school I have been PRIVILEGED to work for the last 8 years, MY SCHOOL and the school MY children attend is NOT A GODLESS GOVERNMENT entity. As a parent, I have a child who scored advanced in all areas and nominated for GT, all the way down to a child who struggles in reading and receives special services, and one who is right smack in the middle. So, I have seen all sides of the spectrum as an employee, to a mom with a diverse range of needs for my kids in the public school system. My kids needs have ALWAYS been met. With that being said, I am PROUD to work for DAPS and I am more proud to say my kids are in the public school system. Im not sure where the breakdown of misinformation occurred, but MY school is rich with people who LOVE God and a I assure you, the LOCAL COMMUNITY, not the federal government, helps to keep it as exceptional as it is today.
