I have some catching up to do…. soo long..not interested....scroll on by..... Day 1: I am thankful for my children who are both very special individuals and have been two of the best gifts I have ever been given. We have been through a lot together; both good and bad and have come out stronger and better for it. I hope they always know that I love them very much and have done the best that I could with the resources that I had at the time. And I hope, along the way, I have taught them things that are/will be beneficial to each of them. Day 2: I am thankful for my granddaughter, Ginny Lynn. She has brought life, joy, fun and tons of unconditional love into my life. I cannot help but to smile and be happy when she is around. She is a gift and continues to bestow light into my life. Day 3: I am thankful for my mom, Diana Carter. As we both grow older, I have much more respect and admiration for her, than I ever did when I was younger. She is a remarkable, strong and a very important person in my life. She has accomplished so much since my Dad’s death in 1993 that no one ever thought she could and I am SO very proud of her. She has a heart of gold and will do for anyone. She has played a huge part in molding my nephew into the wonderful, bright and humorous young man that he is today. Day 4: I am thankful for having my Dad in my life for the short amount of time that he was given. In that short time he taught me how a man should be; loving and providing for his wife and children. He taught me it was okay to have a sense of humor. He was a quiet and sensitive man who did anything for everyone. He was a hard worker. He was real and never put on airs. The love that he had for his mother was very special to watch and in retrospect taught me a great deal. Even until his last breath, he was more concerned with his loved ones than with himself. The heaven received one of the best when he left us….but we will meet again. Day 5: I am thankful for a job that I have had for over 25 years that has allowed me to keep a roof over my head, food in my belly (and on my thighs LOL), and clothes on my back. It has kept me with good health benefits and has afforded me many things besides money…but life experiences and learning opportunities that I would otherwise not have had. It has been the one constant that never swayed. Day 6: I am thankful for the father of my children. Yes, my EX. He gave me two beautiful children and 16 years of lessons and many in-laws that I was fortunate enough to meet; one of which was like a sister to me. I am very thankful that my prayers were answered in July 2000 because it was then that I started knowing and understanding who Lisa was and truly living for the first time ever. No more pretending for the outside world.
