I have some personal opinions from last night observation: 1. Leader in each first aid station is impt. Leaders may not be the one with most medical knowledge, but rather someone who can stay calm n alert constantly. Make sure yr whole group is safe. First principle of any first aid or rescue: ensure yrself is safe first. U cant help anyone if you are injured yrself. So be alert and flexible to retrieve when it is getting dangerous. 2. Stay away from any crowd who shows violent language n behavior. I guess our most important mission is to provide medical support. It could be dangerous if we try to reason with them to calm them down. Distinguish yrself as first aid provider from the protestors. 3. Try yr best to let others know easily, especially the police, that u are first aid provider. From my observation, color t shirt is difficult to make yr red cross stand out. Probably a plain white t shirt is better. 4. PPE and rain coat really heat u up. So when the enviornment is calm and u are standby, i do suggest to gown down. But do make sure yr ppe has a big red cross also. 5. Bring less belonging with u. Let yrself always be ready to evacuate. Handy bag with the only necessary materials would be sufficient to carry around. U can always go back to yr station to fill up necessary equipment. Do not have any sharps with u at all time. Leave the sharps at the station. 6. When u are in the zone, information is difficult to verify. So it would be better to have someone u know to provide impt information from outside. It is important in case we need to evacuate. 7. Only use medications that do not need prescription. It could be medical legal issue. Lastly, hope all of u can stay alert n calm. Protect yrself from any danger. Thank you all of u for supporting
