I have something I would like to say. I will be as respectful as possible... The death of the unarmed Afro-American 18 year old male in St. Louis is appalling. I understand that the police in that area had no dash-cam so its a matter of he said - she said, and the accountability of the police seems to be non-existent. However... The rioting and the looting that ensued does nothing but PERPETUATE STEREOPTYPES!!! You want justice, right? Of course, we all do. So how in the f*$k does looting a gas station and setting it ablaze allow that to happen? IT DOESNT. Those of you who took part in this obviously dont really care about justice. You saw this as an opportunity to steal from a gas station. You are what is wrong with America. Ethnicity isnt involved when it comes to the opportunists. Unfortunately, the vast majority of videos I have seen were predominantly one cultural background (and Im sure the militants were say those were recorded by another culture on purpose). This is not OK. What you did (whoever you may or may not be) does NOT vilify the law enforcement agency that you are upset with (nor is it justified by what they did), you simply vilify yourselves by using this event as an opportunity to drive the wedge between cultures even further. What would Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. say about this? He would have held a peaceful protest, and shamed those who destroyed! Again, the whole thing is horrible! There needs to be accountability in law enforcement. I will say that from what I have read about the situation, I would classify it as murder. I wasnt there, so I didnt see it... That opinion could be based off of media portraying it one way or another, in combination with the countless police brutality videos that I have seen throughout the years... But I wasnt there, so I cant know for sure. However, the reaction in Ferguson, MO only allows news agencies, public forums and social media to be distracted by what happened because of the opportunists who took advantage of a situation. Shame on you. This is not how to bring about change.
