I have spent the last couple of hours researching this interesting Bundy situation from several sides now. Have heard the issues from some re the dangerous jobs the BLM faces due do to the Mexican mafia wanting to move growing operations over here – which don’t hold water at all for me, as we have really sophisticated means of detecting marijuana growth – especially large areas of it! – and all we would need to do is send in the swat teams there. No guns out on the prairies. But. Now comes the interesting part. The Washington post ran an article on “everything you need to know” about the situation. And went on and on about protecting an endangered species – a tortoise out there. So apparently some conservationist group files a lawsuit to get the cattle off of all of that land to protect the tortoise…. The rest just slides by – unimportant except for the money Bundy owes for grazing his cattle. Never mind that he refused to sell his ranch when the BLM was buying out all of the others around him. Which is probably the crux of things…. I for one – having looked at the fracking maps etc. – do believe that the BLM is now taking action on this very old issue for some important reason: FRACKING - and supporting the big oil conglomerates that mostly run this country. The other really important issue that this is bringing up is the absolute militarization of our country. And our youth! This brainwashing/training thing all of our law enforcement agencies are now falling under is hideous. Training young and impressionable and still idealistic youth to be constantly on the lookout for “criminals,” guilty until proven innocent…! And all of us should realize the terrible potential this represents for our country – and the planet! We are almost totally fear based now, run by those who make and support ARMS, (do I need to really say “Nazi Germany” here?); and further, we are being divided by smaller issues so as to diminish our influence and eliminate our power. I hate it that we are falling for all of this. We have to start connecting the dots. Really quickly. Really really quickly. All is definitely not well, or even nearly okay. I would like to concentrate on the good…but it seems to be rapidly diminishing. The real good I see is in the opening up and disseminating of information so that at least there is finally the possibility of connecting some of the dots! So I guess I am saying that no, I still don’t think the BLM needs arms and swat teams to defend themselves against the Mexican mafia or Cliven Bundy. We have our own mafia to worry about.
