I have to admit that I am warming up to the idea of Affleck as Batman. No, my opinion of him being the best actor for the role has not changed. However, the rumors spreading around the internet now are that part of the reason he was tapped for this role was becaue Warner Brothers has an eye toward him directing an eventual "Justice League" movie. One thing that I think cannot be disputed is that Affleck is an extremely talented director, and I would be very excited to have him direct "Justice League." That would be an excellent choice. So can I live with him playing the role of Batman in order for him to eventually direct Justice League? Maybe. Its enough for me to give him the benefit of the doubt and remember that Michael Keaton, Michelle Pfeifer, Heath Ledger and Anne Hathaway were all similarly criticized when they were cast, and personally I think they all turned out pretty darn good (or Oscar-winning great in the case of Ledger).
