I have to e-file Income Tax return for one of my client. But the income tax portal is showing his PAN registered. But my client has neither filed return till date nor registered his PAN on income tax portal. As such he do not have ANSWER TO ANY SECURITY QUESTION under forgot password method. Now on mailing the details to [email protected] it is saying Dear Taxpayer, Thank you for contacting efiling. Please note : "The new efiling login password would be shared to the registered email id" Thanks & Regards, Efiling Unit Directorate of Income-Tax(Systems) Since my client has not registered his PAN, he does not know anything about REGISTERED Email ID. He can not file manual return since e filing is compulsory. On talking to EFILING HELP they are telling there is no other option to reset password. What to do in such cases.
