I have to get on my soapbox for a moment. This could be a long read! 9 years ago my little Kathryn started kindergarten at Orchard Elementary. Alyssa followed 5 years later. Debbie Moniz, Nancy Betker Nelson, Amber Leonetti, Erin Lloyd Berry, Cathy Beltran, Nikki Walker Whorton, Andrea Clark Fuentes, Karyn Garcia, Karen Schaffer, Sally Daniels, Didi Peterson... YOU are my village. Today Alyssa had a parent teacher conference. She has grown, matured, and improved in all areas over last year. This might not sound like a big deal but given where she could be due to my health, it says a lot about the support we have. Shes not struggling, shes improving! Shes actually flourishing!! Kathryns teachers still ask about her when they see me and LOVE when they get to see her. She loves helping at the school anytime she can. She has wonderful memories there. My heart is full. My children have not just been taught. They have been loved and nurtured. Theyve been comforted, encouraged, laughed with, cried with, as have I. They are so incredibly supported. My girls will grow to be amazing women and its in no small part due to the influence of this village. Thank you, each and every one of you, for doing more than just your job. Thank you for the friendships. Thank you for making a difference. I hope as you finish up parent/teacher conferences you feel successful and encouraged. You bless so many every single day!
