I have to gripe today. I was on either Petfinder or Adopt A Pet and saw a senior dog for adoption. The dog was said to be between 8-10 years old (if even that young). The rescue had such wonderful things to say about this senior dog and I thought it would have a good chance for adoption until I saw the adoption fee of $475.00! Now come on...If they want the senior dog to be adopted out, then the fee should be less. It is hard enough getting younger dogs adopted out, but even harder when it comes to senior dogs unless the rescue offers a discount, or another perk. North Shore Animal-League. Senior dogs are great to have around, but they do have problems and simply put, do not live as long as a healthy younger dog. Like humans, senior dogs get senior related ailments and diseases. Alright, enough said...I vented.
