I have to live a long, long time to complete this bucket list: I - TopicsExpress

I have to live a long, long time to complete this bucket list: I have been to (a) #9 - Yosemite, (b) #18 Monument Valley, (c) #29 Tulip Field in Netherland (but only by riding on a train through it), (d) #37 The Giza Pyramids (in fact, the camel in the background of the second photo looks like the one I rode alongside the Cheops Pyramid --- there is a scam set up here, the drovers trick you into a camel ride for a tiny fee; then they hold onto the reins and run along side the camel until you get around the corner from the rest of your group, then ask for a tip in order for him to return you to your group. I refused the offer, snatched the reins away from the drover, kicked the camel in the ribs whereby he trotted back to my group where I just hopped off. I then shooed the camel off at a gallop. The last I saw of the drover was him chasing the camel as it headed for the Sphinx. Others in my group took the tour into the Cheops; a steep downward set of stairs to somewhere below ground level. I declined the offer because (a) I envisioned the steep upward climb back out, and (b) I am a little more than slightly claustrophobic. The others in my group said that the guide took them to the bottom chamber; where there was a strong urine ordor and asked for tips from each before leading them out. I can claim a close visit to #7 if it counts to visit the Santorini Restaurant in Scripps Ranch shopping center.
