(I have to maintain my rep of being longwinded. Ha! But I believe this is for someone tonight. I hope it is worth your time.) Many people are living an imbalanced life. If your life is not rooted in the Rock of Ages, you are in danger of being like the foolish man who built his house on the sand. There are many things that cause our lives to become imbalanced. The loss of a loved one can leave us deeply hurt and confused. We never realized how heavily we leaned on them until they were gone. Divorce can do the same. Disagreements and distance can push our lives to the edge. The loss of our job, the realization that one of lifes goals will not be reached, loss of self-confidence, disappointment in friends, and health issues can cause our lives to list severely. This is why it is imperative that we walk with the Lord. His presence, promises, and power can keep our ship from listing and maintain proper balance in our lives. When we walk in the Spirit, and we are filled with the Spirit, nothing can destabilize us. The storms may come, the rains may descend, and the winds may be fierce and strong, but we will stay on course and nothing can make our ship list or run aground. The Psalmist cried, I waited patiently for the LORD; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry. He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings. And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the LORD. Blessed is that man that maketh the LORD his trust, and respecteth not the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies. Look to Him tonight. He will establish your goings and He will protect the balance in your life.
