I have to make a couple of statements here. Im so sick of the postings about people who get WIC, food stamps, welfare etc. So many of these postings have come from people whom I know have gotten some kind of government assistance sometime in their lives. Whether it was WIC or food stamps or government subsidized housing..it does not mean that a person is a low life or doesnt work. I just love when a young person posts this who has never even lived out from under their parents roof. I was fortunate enough to never need any assistance. You people know who you are..you got WIC when your babies were little so how can you stand in judgement on these women. There are so many who abuse the system but there are those that because of circumstances have had to use assistance..maybe they have left an abusive relationship..maybe their parents bought them their cell phone so they have a way to stay in touch and be safe..maybe that tattoo is a memorial tat for their baby boy who died. Before you look down on these people try to think of what it is like for them to stand in line at the grocery store and have to use their WIC or food stamps to feed their children. I personally know a couple of hard working young women who are on assistance because like me they dont earn a living wage in Rapid City SD. They suck it up and hold their heads high because they know that it wont always be this way..that they are working their way out of the system. By the way one of these women I am talking about is my daughter and the other is a hard working co-worker of mine. So maybe before you judge you should have some compassion for that Mommy. Not all use their food stamps for crap. Maybe you should realize that this is temporary for some. Maybe try smiling at them. I know Im going to get a lot of comments. Enough said!
