I have to remind myself to be gentle with my thoughts. Its okay to feel the emotions of disappointment after making a mistake, just be gentle with it. You dont have to beat yourself up wen you make a mistake. Whether it was a choice or an accident, life goes on. These negative feelings are feelings, and they will pass. More often than not, I choose to be in line with my values over the automatic response to the situation. It doesnt happen every single time, but most. Knowing your own heart and your values gives you the freedom of choice. You can choose to be driven by what mistakes you make; because we will make them, or we can choose to live in line with our morals and principles. I pray I overcome disappointments and negative feelings in a healthy way. The challenge of disappointment allows me to practice living closer to my values and God and stops me from being swallowed up by the stress of this world. Disappointment and mistakes are apart of life, but all parts of life can help us grow. We can be present and aware even in the midst of negative emotions and therefore life more fully. Lord willing...
