I have to start off my story with a little story about Auggie. - TopicsExpress

I have to start off my story with a little story about Auggie. I’m sure you are all familiar with the Christmas song that goes like this: Im gettin nuttin for Christmas, Mommy and Daddy are mad. Im gettin nuttin for Christmas, ‘Cause I aint been nuttin but bad. I will just let a picture speak a thousand words. The picture is of my three Angels that once belonged to my Gram. I just treasure these! One night this week, I came home to find one of them with the head chewed off. I have three dogs so I couldn’t be sure which one of little monsters did it. I was pretty sure my old man Willie wasn’t a part of it because his teeth are in such bad shape that he couldn’t chew chalkware and he isn’t tall enough to have reached them up on the end table. The only for sure way that I know to find out who the naughty pup is to go by the saying, what goes in….must come out. Trust me when I say when it comes to my three dogs that I can tell who’s “outage” belongs to which dog. Let’s just say Auggie has some Angel poop so he is on the “naught list”! I had heard this song by Gretchen Wilson a while back and I substituted the word pup for girl in one spot, but I am thinking this might be the perfect song for Auggie this holiday season: Santa, I’ve been naughty And I know I should be nice Go give your list one quick glance Please don’t check it twice Santa, I’ve been naughty And I’m blue as can be Cuz I don’t want a lump of coal Beneath my Christmas tree Santa your no stranger to temptation I know you can’t pass milk and cookies by You have a saintly reputation But your belly tells me that reputation lies Santa, I’m not perfect You know how it goes A pup like me can’t always be An Angel goodness knows Santa I’ve been naughty But please cut me some slack I promise to be good next year Don’t take my presents back You know Santa, It wasn’t really my fault That is Auggie’s story and he is sticking to it. The good news and the reason I have forgiven him is that a couple of Auggie’s biggest fans Granny J and Char found a replacement Angel that I have on the way to my house! Our visit Thursday started off with catching up with the Activities Director and we had a nice visit! We made our way up and down the hallway visiting people in their rooms and others on their way to and fro. Auggie was happy to see one of his friends has a miniature Auggie on her TV stand! I really think he wanted to take a bite off of it but the look I gave him must have reminded him of the Angel incident from earlier in the week and he decided it might not be a good idea. LOL! One of our friends was just returning from a stay in the hospital but we stopped in to tell her hello but left after a minute to let her get settled in. We filled many of our friends in on Auggie’s trip to the airport last week and assured them that he did fit on the plane! Our night ended with visiting Miss M. She was lying in bed instead of sitting up which is usually the norm. So walking up I was a little concerned but quickly my worry was but to rest when I saw the smile on her face when she saw Auggie. Miss M was in a wonderful mood and it amazes me how darn funny she is! She had me in belly laughs a couple times tonight and I think I brought her a few chuckles too! The biggest blessing of our visit was even in her bed, she reached out to pet Auggie tonight. So even if Auggie’s not perfect and he does naughty things sometimes, I was told by a wise person once to “love them anyway”…so I will give Auggie a break and cross him off the naughty list because after all, he needs some new Christmas outfits to keep spreading the “magic of fur”!
