I have to tell everyone about a few changes going on in our lives. I have been promoted to Chief Deputy. This position comes with a new job assignment as Jail Administrator. This will present new challenges and a chance to learn a lot of new things. With my move, our nepotism policy prevents me from supervising Andy. The Sheriff has promoted Andy to a Deputy position managing the Evidence Room and working in the SDA - Handgun Applicant areas. Andy is still scheduled to go to the Police Academy in January with an April 18th graduation. (Yes you are all invited). Jacob started Webelos Scouts last year. I was appointed to a Den Leader position teaching the Webelos kids. This will be a great opportunity to give back yet again to my Scouting past. Rachel is beginning her Girl Scouting adventure this next week. No details yet. Overall, these changes are excellent and will provide new challenges and successes. I cannot express my overwhelming pride felt today as Andy received his first badge and commission card. I understand that this has been his lifelong dream and goal, but, I am so incredibly honored by his choice to follow in my footsteps. I took extra time today to give thanks to our Lord for bringing these successes and milestones to our family. I hope you will join me in congratulating Andy for following his dreams, and accepting the responsibilities that come with the honor of serving and protecting others.
