I have two thoughts of the day. 1. Some men want to be great because they want to be greatly loved by mankind. In so doing fill the void they have in their hearts. Men of God dont feel this way. God loves greater than the praise of man and he fills the void in our heart perfectly like a puzzle piece designed for such a purpose. 2. If someone held a gun to your head and told you to do something you would be consumed with fear and reverence for the power that person has over you to end your life and most likely you would obey them... How much more should we feel reverence when God speaks and tells us to do something. He tells me things and I start acting like its an option to obey. This is the same God that told the sun and the stars and the oceans to come into being and they obeyed. They didnt know what a molecule was.... they didnt even have a blue print. They just obeyed. Do I have more reverence for a gun than God?
