I havent made a post about it yet so here it is.. Whether youre from Chicago or not; we can all agree that none of us would be here without Frankie Knuckles. No matter what genre you work in, every single one of us owes it to sit back and take a second to acknowledge the gift we have been given to play music for people and actually have it appreciated on a wide spectrum. House and edm, no matter how much I disagree with its culture, has evolved from a scene consisting of strictly gay black kids who wanted to be able to party, love one another, in to a multi-billion dollar industry that unites people from all across the globe. You can be black, white, brown, yellow, purple, whatever.. At the end of the day we are all here together and education and natural progression with taste will always continue to bud. We planted the seeds here long ago. I was fortunate enough to play music with Frankie on 1 occasion and I will forever hold that memory at the forefront of my psyche as a testament to what this is all really about. The music. Rest In Peace Frankie. We love you.
