I havent told this story in quite some time but I have a friend who should hear this just to see why I have such strong feelings about the existence of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and the fact that He is still working miracles each and every day in the lifes of those that believe in Him!!! Its not a love offered only to those who are perfect my God Blesses me daily and does it knowing that Im a sinner and far from perfect! I can think of more than 15 times when god has answered our prayers and each of these blessings came at the last possible moment before the situation we were facing would have been devastating to our family!!! God I believe stretched it to the last moment so that I would know it was His hand working in our lifes!!! The first time this happened I had been advised by our bank that they were not going to be doing any more agriculture operating loans , it was at a time when no other banks were doing Ag loans either and with on going expenses and land payments and rental expenses were backed up ! I took the recommendation of a fellow farmer to contact an attorney in Lubbock Texas which specialized in Bankruptcies !! I loaded my little kids in a pickup and my wife and I headed north with just enough cash we figured to get there and back!! He asked us to meet with him in his office downtown Lubbock on a Sunday morning ! At this meeting he advised me that he needed a $20,000. Retainer Fee to handle my case and I explained to him I had nothing and that if I had this much money I would have been able to make partial tractor payments , purchase diesel and buy water and seed to get my next crop started !!! We started back to Donna with enough money to get home and Sunday night we ran into a terrible thunderstorm around Sweetwater Texas where we were able to find a rat hole motel room for $20.00 and get our kids off the road during this awful weather!!! I was up till about 3:00 am praying to God to give me the answer to this terrible situation I was in!! God spoke to me that night and told me to rest and everything would be alright !!! I conveyed this to Cynthia and Im sure she thought I had lost my mind even though her faith had always been stronger than mine! Monday when we entered the valley I had a message on our home phone recorder that our president of our Ag Bank wanted to see us both in her office , so we called her and she told us to come to the bank and knock on the door and she would be there and let us in late !!! We were expecting more bad news and when we sat down she said well I had an unusual night last night ! This lady was a strong no nonsense person but she was also a strong believer !!! She said last night God woke me and told me to help yall !!! At that point i knew it was the same time he spoke to me !!! She said I spent this morning and worked out a way to consolidate your debts into one long term loan and set you up with a new operating line of credit , there wasnt a dry eye in her office! We were able to pay off those long term notes far before maturity of the notes!!! I just want so badly for this person to know the God I know and to be able to feel Him working in there life as we have experienced !!! If God can Love a sinner like me I know He can make an enormous change in anyones life!!!
