I havent tried this recipe, but it sounded delicious!! The pic is from their magazine. Mandarin and Soy Beef (Recipe credit to Better Homes and Gardens magazine, July 14) Preparation time:10 mins Cooking time:5 hours Serves:4 Serves Notes Try using a piece of rump steak in place of the topside beef. Ingredients 1 ½ kg piece of topside beef Juice of 4 mandarins 1/3 cup soy sauce 1/3 cup hoisin 2 Tbsp brown sugar 3 tsp cornflour ½ tsp white pepper 3 star anise 2 cinnamon sticks 400g fresh thin egg noodles 2 bunches brocollini, trimmed Method Put beef in the bowl of a 4.5L-capacity slow cooker. Combine mandarin juice, soy, hoisin, brown sugar, cornflour, pepper, star anise and cinnamon sticks in a large jug. Pour over beef. Set appliance to low, cover and cook for 5 hours. Remove beef from slow cooker and transfer to a chopping board. Cover to keep warm. Stand for 10 minutes. Increase slow cooker heat to high and simmer sauce until thickened. Meanwhile, cook noodles following pack instructions. Drain and return to pan. Bring a separate saucepan of water to the boil. Add brocollini and cook for 2 minutes or until just tender. Drain. Slice beef, then divide noodles among serving plates. Top with beef slices, sauce and brocollini to serve.
