I havent updated my own status on here in a long time. In case you havent noticed, Jo is the one who is mainly on here updating our day to day lives. Which is exactly why we share this account. Im horrible at keeping in touch. As the year comes to an end I thought Id give you a quick recap of the year and whats to come... Last year at this time I was laid off from my place of employment by the ignorant owner of the company. In a way I was okay with it all really. You cant help someone who doesnt wanna be helped right? The tough part was I was let go right before Xmas. No paid Vacation time, no Xmas bonus.....Im sure it was all planned out that way to stick it to me. Didnt fade me though as I was about to perform on stage again with my best friends/brothers in honor of my cousin. I hid the news behind me and had a great time. I had spent the whole year trying to raise money for the production for my cousin Joshs tribute videos, shows, recordings and Record and fell short in the end. We got to accomplish a lot, but in the end it wasnt enough. Everything pretty much happened but the actual pressing of the record, but Im not letting that go and in a few months well get it done. Everyone who purchased a record does and should have the downloadable versions but will receive the actual Vinyl Record 7 inch soon. When this new year started, my options were slim and I had an old buddy of mine from the music scene offer me a spot at his Screen Print Shop. It took me awhile to find the drive to get back in this game but after being here a month or two I gave it my all. It has been the least to say such a blessing and a whole new chapter in my life. Ive always wanted to help small businesses, help our music scene and give back to the neighborhood where I grew up, and thats EXACTLY what Im doing these days. I have the greatest job in the world and couldnt ask for anything better. Ive worked in a kitchen line for 2 restaurants with a combined 13 years. It was a love and hate relationship. Funny enough and gladly enough my sweetheart allowed me to throw in my kitchen towel and hang up my spatula. I dont cook at home at all and she understands why and lets me get away with it ;) It was the greatest feeling in the world to be a professional musician working hard to be a rock star from age 13 to 24 years old. My Mom & Dad were very patient and till this day I still cant believe they were supportive of it all. Letting me play bars and clubs on school nights. What can I say....sometimes you make it....sometimes you dont. I gave it my all my but in the end I decided to call it quits. I worked for a clothing line for 5 years and had the time of my life. I made some life long friends, got to meet and hang with huge rock stars and meet musicians I looked up to growing up. Got to travel the country and I learned so much from that job. I got to start a record label and release up and coming artists and accomplished so much with it. Such a great experience over all and I wouldt have my position now if it wasnt for all that knowledge I gained. It has been a long journey and I hope that where I;m at now, lasts a very long time. Working here at that shop.....clients and old friends are constantly asking if some of our shirts are for sell. People are always telling me I should start the clothing line again or something. Every time I go out I get stopped asking when the next Perk reunion show is or why dont I start another band. All of this gets old....but I would be a liar if I said I didnt miss it. So, I thought long and hard about it the other other night and made up my mind to give some of this my all again. There are 3 projects I will be working hard on and your support means the world to me. 1. Here at Next Day Custom Tees we have decided to open up a Tee Shirt shop that will be called La Camisa that will be right here in our store front. It will be ready December 1st for opening and well be selling our very own shirts as well as local bands and other local designers. Well have stuff like stickers, buttons, toys, etc. Were all eager to work on it and well have more info soon to come! 2. It seems we missed a few years here and there but Perk and I try to do a reunion show when we can. We have been asked to perform at the Sin 13 Reunion Show at Korova on December 6th and we kindly excepted the invitation. Unfortunately, Anthony will not be able to join us on stage this time around (which is a little weird for us) due to prior engagements. We have asked long time Perk fan and friend Juancho to join us on Bass and Aaron Minority to play guitar once again. All of us including Wj and Anthony have been talking sometime now about recording all of our Perk songs in the studio and possibly starting another project soon. Nothing but talk though... 3. Joann and I have had this idea in play for years now. We keep pushing it and pushing it. Weve had some rough years and we just havent had the funds or time to actually go fourth with it. Well, coming Spring 2015 all that will change! With the help of the shop and other Designer artist friends, well be launching a Childrens Clothing line! Were SOOOO EXCITED to have this finally come to life! Of course, youll hear more about it in the months to come as well as the other projects I just mentioned so be on the look out. I dont get to see a lot of you or talk to you much on a daily but funny enough being on facebook all day is part of my job...so I do keep up with your lives secretly ;) I just wanted to update all of you, get your thoughts and support! We love all of you dearly....family and friends! Sorry for the long status but there was just so much to announce and share! Till the next episode... - JC
