I heard someone say recently referring to the scriptures as he held up his Bible, "This is Jesus". John1:1 In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God. 14 And the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us... Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Ouch! Is that why the Bible is so hard to read...and believe? Who wants Jesus looking into their heart and seeing, revealing what is really there? Yuck! Reading the Bible is sheer torment! Luke 8:28 When he saw Jesus, he cried out, and fell down before him, and with a loud voice said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God most high? I beseech thee, torment me not. Believe: to accept something as true, genuine, or real Faith: firm belief in something for which there is no proof, complete trust Hebrews 11:6 for without faith it is impossible to please God Do we believe...in God?...the Triune God?...just what do we believe?
