I heard this song at the gas station tonight and the chorus piqued my interest. At first I thought it was an old bluesy worship song, but when I realized it began sounding more and more like a song about organized religion undermining humanity {as the artist put it, also perfectly}, I ran to look up the lyrics. I was NOT expecting to be so moved. I couldnt even get through reading without stopping several times because I could not believe what I was reading. As a songwriter/lyricist I would like to shake this guys hand for writing the most moving, articulate, and beautiful lyrics Ive ever read and related to. What a perfect metaphor for being in love. I tried to write something with a similar concept a while back, but it does not even come close. Wow. Right in the feels.
