I heard this song on the radio while driving my car. I found my self sobbing, so much that I had to pull over. It is beyond the capacity of my empathy to truly understand how some humans feel such extreme fear and anger toward other humans for expressing love. This is happening in our world right now. Brutality against the LGBTQ community still exist in our country... in our cultures. There are countries where it is illegal to express affection in public, where expressing your love is a death sentence. I have felt this fear before. I have feared for my life for holding my lovers hand as we walked down the street. Ive dodged beer cans and pieces of furniture launched at my head by angry men threatening to rape and beat us and I can tell you, this is a fraction of the fear and pain many others are subjected to. We all witness the seedlings of this behavior and often say nothing. I am asking.. pleading.. for you.. and I mean YOU, to speak out. Speak up when you hear young people speak in hate or fear of others love. Be brave and confront people with your heart. Let them, let us, know that it grieves you to hear their words of hate. Every time we ignore this...every time we pretend that we didnt hear it or it is none of our business, we are allowing the cycle to continue. I wonder, how many hearts could be reached if we just talked to one another. https://youtube/watch?v=MYSVMgRr6pw
