I hope the Tea Party gets its way and shuts down the government, because it will return the House back to the Democrats in November 2014. Then the House can impeach Darrell Issa for the same actions that got Senator Joseph McCarthy impeached 60 years ago. If that happens, then the impeachment would go to the Senate for trial. Given the number of Democratic Senators, there is an extremely high probability that Representative Issa will be convicted. The the House and the Senate can get to work on legislation that the country needs, like measures to improve the economy and create jobs, like passage of the Senate immigration bill, which, per the nonpartisan CBO, will reduce our deficit by 700 BILLION DOLLARS. Then the House and Senate can enact a non-austerity budget, since the IMF has stated that austerity budgets damage economies recovering from a recession.
