I hope this distinction is CLEAR: [1] Sedevacante we ALL know and believe is the period of "Vacant Chair" between the death of one canonical pope until the acceptance of his canonical successor, a succession that cannot be stopped or prevented absolutely to occur, since the OFFICE of PETER (= ROCK) is the very FOUNDATION of the Visible Church of Christ--His Divine Mandate. Note: We always HAVE Sedevacante periods as many times as we have Papal Succession which is PERPETUALLY occuring... that is, to be clear... absolutely an UN-STOPPABLE process. [2] On the other hand, professed among SOME, there is "Perpetual Sedevacantism"-- a hardened, narrow-minded or rigid belief that there is no canonical pope AT ALL in existence since October 1958 -- a totally novel belief today, because it does not make any allowance whatsoever for the operation of the Perpetual (= UN-stoppable) Succession PROCESS (including canonical electors who possess continuity) that is a De Fide teaching that we must adhere to no matter what. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - I will stand firmly on De Fide teachings while rejecting novelty.
