I hope this isnt off topic and available for post: Maybe someone can help me with advice: FIVE years ago, sold a truck to some stranger. I turned in the Release of Liability in person at the DMV (aka the armpit of hell) like I was instructed (of course when I followed up with DMV they said it must have been lost between Redding and Sacramento.) I am still getting registration renewals to my address because this fool didnt ever register the truck into his name. The Bill of Sale has been gone, as in never coming back (Yep, thats another story not for this forum, lol). I hand delivered yet another release of liability today but the DMV instructed me that even though my liability may end with this form, should god forbid there is an accident, my name is still connected to this vehicle. I only have the name of the person, which is a very common name, and I dont want to blast anyone online. But damnit Im frustrated! I shouldnt have to worry about something that I thought I got rid of five years ago!
