I hope this proposal comes to fruition. This creates greater equality and will not make higher education appear to be for the elite. This will also increase the income and future opportunities for the masses. There will be higher discretionary income, which will be used to save, invest and spend in the US economy. Additionally, this measure will lessen the so-called US brain strain; we would not have to import as many skilled people, who have been educated in other countries. The cost to educate our next economic leaders has risen to astronomical levels. Student loan debt has crossed the $1trillion level. The annual inflation rate for higher education is 6%-12%, which is significantly higher than general inflation, which is approximately 3%. Finally, other major developed and developing countries have free public college education, which is government subsidized like: Germany (for Germans and foreign students), Sweden, Brazil, India ($50 annual fee) and Cuba. Great first step by the Obama administration. It will be great to see it happen. #FreeEducationForAll
