I hope we have sloths around a long time. We are of course cutting down HUGE swaths of Rain forests which is home to them and countless other species of animals and plants. These are risk bio-diverse communities which cease to exist once the forest is clear cut for short lived agriculture or cattle grazing. The energy is in the living forest community not the soil in the case of the rain forest. Replanting trees later does not restore the richness either or living communities. The result is a rather bland monoculture that is sparse of diversity. Maybe if we left it alone for a few hundred years, it might recover - nature is strong be we are like a plague over the planet, consuming everything in our path. We do not leave cute footprints but a trail of carnage and death. We are not in harmony with Creators Universe or Natural Rhythms. Animals are more evolved in that department.
