I hope when we replace the British Brainwashing Corporation with a Scottish Broadcasting Corporation we can make new innovative SF shows like Dune, Sapphire and Steele, Chocky etc and also have a filmmaking arm like film4 funded by our own version of the national lottery. The culture novels by the late Iain M Banks could be prime projects for such a body. We could also restore old ideas like play for the day to encourage new writing talent to emerge from Scotland. We have the writing talent (like John Byrne) and the young actors all we need is control of broadcasting which would have been delivered with devolution had Tony Blair not blocked it at the time.
