I hope you will join me in remembering the 241 U.S. servicemen - TopicsExpress

I hope you will join me in remembering the 241 U.S. servicemen (220 Marines, 18 sailors, and 3 soldiers) who were killed on this day, in 1983 in Beirut, Lebanon, when suicide bombers exploded a truck bomb by their barracks. It was the single deadliest day for the U.S. Marine Corps since the Battle of Iwo Jima in 1945. It was the deadliest single day death toll for the U.S. military since the first day of the Vietnam Wars Tet Offensive in 1968. We owe so much to those who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation.
