I hv a dilemma, a lot of pain in being inflicted on lots of innocent ppl (mostly muslims), ppl post very graphic pics/videos, and my fear is that we’re falling into a pseudo-concern/self-serving culture (where if we ‘like’ or ‘share’ something we feel we’re part of the process, we care! And we hv done our bit). I don’t want to see this graphic material, and this makes me feel bad coz then I’m not aware of what’s happening to my brothers n sisters. I also feel like the level of shock is not appropriate for everyday consumption, not to mention that victims also have a right to dignity… the shock factor in incidences like the Boston bombing lies in the fact that in western countries we don’t expect to see mayhem on the streets, but that sight is the norm in lot of major muslim cities…I’m confused! I don’t how to strike a balance.
