I joined the group a few weeks ago, but havent had time to converse. I am a rock artist! This is what I do for a living. I LOVE rocks, and I LOVE nature. Ive decided to take my work to the next level, and move to where I can hunt my own rocks. I love unique rocks for my tree bases (not just perfect specimens), and Id like to get into tumbled stones (for the healing aspect). I would love to hear from you guys, how is it to hunt for your own rocks? Hard or easy? Cheap or expensive? Can you build a business in the rock world? And the biggest question of all... where is the BEST place to live amongst the variety of specimens? Im looking to have a cheap cost of living and decent weather, and maybe a day job working with rocks? I have my sights set on the Black Hills of South Dakota, because of its location to my hometown of MN. But, Ive seen photos from the AZ mines and Im jealous! Would there be enough in SD to make me happy, or would I be better off in other areas?
