I just bought two Puritan classics from the school book store; one by William Perkins and the other by John Owen... Then I got to thinking, why is it that so many professing Christians want to buy books by false teachers like Osteen, Meyers, and Jakes for the vain sake of temporal gain when they could be buying books by Watson, Owens, and Perkins for eternal gain? Why read literature from people who arent concerned about what you learn from the Word of God and your sanctification to be conformed to His image? They instead want you to buy their books to fund their contribution to a false and satanic kingdom. Why have your best life now at the expense of the worst time spent in eternity? I assure you. Those false teachers have nothing to offer but false hopes and superficial satisfaction apart from Christ. If we cannot have contentment in Christ, in whom all joy is to be found, then we have no fellowship with Him and are lost. Be sure that what you strive for is to be conformed to His image; and not for the finite gains of this wretched and fallen world. Dont idolize possessions. Worship Christ because He alone is sufficient. #Lincolnton #Church #Christianity
