I just came home from the sweetest funeral I think I have ever attended. My precious neighbor, and dear friend, Larry Hughes was laid to rest this Sunday afternoon at 2p at The First Baptist Church of Byram. As I walked into the sanctuary, I saw so many faces of people that I grew up with. My high school coaches, principals, their families, my neighbors, former classmates..people I love. As we sang Victory in Jesus, and walked through the Church corridors outside to the Church cemetery for the interment, I felt God presence in such a real way. As we stood along the outside of the tent, Taps was played, the American flag folded, a light breeze and bright sun. My heart remained heavy for the grieving family that I have loved for many years, but yet, my heart was full as I believed more than ever in the verse, Do not let your heart be troubled. Believe in God, believe also in me. In my Fathers house, there are many mansions. If it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you so that where I am there ye may be also.
