I just cant begin to imagine the pain & suffering this wee dog endured followed by a lonely death. Its time people were afraid of the consequences of allowing this to happen. If convicted, a severe sentence is needed here. There is NO EXCUSE for this!! Posted by Mary Loughran Dog found ‘hanging from blinds’ so so sad and i hope to god they throw the book at this cruel scumbag - From Antrim Guardian - Thursday, 25 September 2014 LEGAL proceedings are to be brought against a dog owner after the animal was found hanging from blinds at his home in Antrim, having starved to death amidst a frantic attempt to escape the property. The animal had reportedly drunk all of the toilet water in the house, and had left bite marks on food packs and dishes, with a post mortem examination confirming that the dog had died as a result of malnutrition and dehydration. Attempting to escape through the window, the dog had become tangled in blinds, where it had remained dead for a period of time. At last Thursdays meeting of Antrim Borough Councils Environment Committee, councillors from all parties lined up to express their disgust at an upsetting and horrendous case and unanimously gave their approval for council officers to initiate legal action against the owner. Alliance councillor Neil Kelly said he was horrified to read the report from councils animal welfare officers. “It was very upsetting to even read it. The dog clearly tried to get out of the property but couldnt. This legal action sends a very strong message out, that if you are cruel to animals we will catch you and we will punish you, he said
