I just finished listening to the audio book of Cat Sense, by John Bradshaw. This is the most detailed book Ive yet found on the evolution, genetics, and history of cats. There is also interesting information about cat (mis)behavior, why cats fight with each other, why they spray, whether they really have emotions, etc. The author is very careful to say what science knows and what is just speculation at this point. If you think the world is only 4000-6000 years old, you probably shouldnt read this book, as youll learn that cats were domesticated before the Earth was created.
