I just finished patrolling FB and some of the statuses I saw made me sick to my stomach. We have a national tragedy people, can we for once put aside our petty differences and put our focus where it belongs.....ON THE GRIEVING RELATIVES & COMMUNITY. How can professed Christians & so called educated people go into the grieving community and exploit clearly vulnerable people for personal gain? What does it matter who assisted in the rescue / recovery effort, arent we all there to help? Why use the tragedy to take shots at the police? If the water is too rocky and rough for the coast guard to get close and Fisher folks from the area who are more familiar with the current in that area, volunteer to help, what is wrong with the coast guard officers deferring to them? Isnt the ultimate goal to minimize loss of lives? How is that a bad thing & more importantly, how does that help the relatives? Is the police immune from the suffering? Isnt station sergeant Hezron Ballantyne a police officer? Didnt he lose his child too and isnt she still amoung the missing? Seriously, is that the best you can do for the people? SMFH!!
